Leadership Wesleyan

Leadership Wesleyan presented by German American Bank is the College’s premier leadership program. Modeled after programs like Leadership Owensboro and Leadership Kentucky, Leadership Wesleyan is a year-long program designed to prepare students for life after college in both professional and personal life aspects.

Students who are accepted into the program experience priceless networking opportunities with state-wide community leaders, professional experiences including conferences, training and social events and educational sessions focused on “adulting” topics like personal finance, insurance, interview skills, workplace etiquette, work/life balance, leadership & entrepreneurship and so much more. Thanks to the support from German American Bank, the program remains completely free to students.

Embarking on its third year, the program will shift to increased involvement with the community of Owensboro.  Leadership Wesleyan kicks off with the mandatory Fall Conference, taking place Friday evening, September 29, and Saturday, September 30 at the Owensboro Convention Center. Following the conference, students will choose a total of four elective activities from a selection of alternatives.  Two should be completed in the fall semester and two in the spring.  Leadership Wesleyan will culminate with a presentation and awards ceremony in April 2024.

To graduate from Leadership Wesleyan, students must attend the Fall Conference and complete four electives. Participation is limited to 30 students and priority will be given to students who have junior and senior status. All students must complete an application and list one faculty/staff member or coach as a reference.  If you previously attended a prior session of Leadership Wesleyan, but did not complete the program, you are eligible to participate.
