Kentucky Wesleyan will play reigning NCAA champion Louisville in an exhibition basketball contest to open the 2013-14 season, as announced by new KWC head men's coach Happy Osborne.
The Panthers will play the Cardinals on Oct. 29, in the KFC Yum! Center at 6 p.m. CT. This marks the fourth time KWC has faced U of L in exhibition play and the sixth for an Osborne-coached team.
"We're really looking forward to the opportunity to play Louisville and we appreciate Coach (Rick) Pitino's invitation," Osborne said.
"With their talent, athleticism and how hard they play for Pitino, it will definitely help prepare us for our season. To be the best you have to play the best and we have more than achieved our goal.
"This will be great for our fans to see us play the national champions in a great atmosphere in one of best basketball arenas in the country."
The Panthers return four starters from last season's 20-8 squad while the Cardinals return three starters from their 35-5 NCAA title team.
Ticket information will be announced at a later date.
