Owensboro, Ky. (April 19, 2014) - Kentucky Wesleyan College music students Corey Moore and Nadia Wilkes will present their junior recitals on April 29, 2014, at 7 p.m. at First Presbyterian Church.
Moore will sing selections by Handel, Faure and Quilter and an arrangement of “O Danny Boy” by James Mulholland. His musical theater selections include songs by Sara Bareilles, Jason Robert Brown and a final piece by Jeanine Tesori from “Shrek.” He will be accompanied by Patrick Ritsch and will be joined in duet by Nadia Wilkes.
Moore has performed solos with the Kentucky Wesleyan singers. This year he has won the upper division musical theatre audition of the Kentucky National Association of Teachers of Singing (NATS). He performed with Stephen Foster Productions and toured with them to Japan in 2013. He is a past winner of K-Dub Idol on campus and was a winner in the North Carolina American Idol audition. He is a student of Professor Dennis Jewett.
Mezzo-soprano Nadia Wilkes will sing selections by Schumann, Purcell, Handel and others. Nadia has been a semi-finalist at the state NATS auditions. She is a frequent soloist with the Kentucky Wesleyan Singers and is a choral scholar at the First Presbyterian Church in Owensboro. She has performed with the Masterworks Chorus in Carnegie Hall in New York on several occasions. Wilkes is a student of Lisa Clark.
