Acts 1:8 Leadership Experience
Acts 1:8 is a summer mission program through the Kentucky Baptist Convention. College students from across Kentucky come together to create multiple mission teams. Each of the teams begins in Louisville with a period of training and then they separate to their various mission sites and spend the months of June and July doing mission work.
To be a part of the Acts 1:8 program, students must apply through their college during the Fall semester. The CROSS campus minister and students from the Leadership Team will interview interested students and then submit prospective names to the KBC. The students who are selected will have multiple orientation weekends throughout the year before the program starts on May 31st.
Our two Owensboro representatives are pictured above. Hannah Priest (left) and Leah Stroupe (right) are two freshmen students at Kentucky Wesleyan. They will be serving on separate Acts 1:8 mission teams during the summer of 2012.
Engage International Conference
Engage is an international student conference for the state of Kentucky. International
college students from across the state meet in Cave City, KY, for the weekend to share
in fun, friendship, and love for their countries. It is each fall, normally the first weekend of November. If you are interested in attending, please contact email@example.com.
Leadership Training Conference
Each year, our Cross Leadership Team travels to the Kentucky Baptist Campus Ministry sponsored Leadership Training Conference (LTC). The conference is held at Cedarmore Camp in Bagdad, KY, and is usually the first weekend in April. Leadership members learn how to become better leaders within their campus ministry and how to identify and better use their spiritual gifts. They also attend seminars in which they're given many good ideas that relate to their specific area of leadership, such as missions fundraising.
