Leave the cold weather behind and travel to the exotic shores of Costa Rica. Join us for studies abroad in a land of culture, biodiversity, and beautiful beaches. We will visit conservation parks, volcanoes, rain forests, and -- of course -- the beaches! Come join us for Winter Term 2012 in an educational journey to Costa Rica!
 
"Language, Culture, and Diversity in Costa Rica" INS 3309 will earn 3 credit hours. No prior language skills required. The course is open to everyone.

 

If you're interested, please email Dr. Arcea Zapata de Aston (azapata@kwc.edu) or stop by her office: FOB #28. She will provide the registration form and answer any questions that you have about Costa Rica and the course. The registration form and $200 deposit are required before December 1, 2011 to secure a place. Financial aid may be available.

January
3-6      Review course materials on KWC campus
9         Arrive in Costa Rica; Airport Shuttle to Hotel Robledal; Presentation of the Tour Program
10       Visit to Inbio Park; Visit to Poas Volcano; return to hotel Robledal
11       Visit to Braulio Carrillo National Park; transfer to Tirimbina Hotel;Presentation of the     Conservation & Sustainable Programs; Night Tour “Frogs of the rain forest”
12       Chocolate Tour; Bats Presentations at Conference Room; Night Tour “Bats as the most important mammals of the Rain forest”       
13       Arenal Volcano; Visit to Ecocentro Danaus; transfer to La Pradera; Visit to the Hotsprings
14       Visit Puentes Colgantes
15       Jaco Beach; Visit Tarcoles River; transfer to Arenal Pacifico
16       Jaco;  Visit to Manuel Antonio National Park
17       Return to Robledal; Final Dinner
19       Transfer to the airport; Return
20       Finalize papers

 

TOTAL Price:  $1300 + flights and tuition (note some food is included). Financial aid and grants may be available.

 

Includes: Hotel room double occupancy ten nights in Costa Rica, all internal travel, excursions to sites, all tours. (Note: Price is subject to change until final booking is confirmed.)
