A letter from the Class of 1962 50th Anniversary Reunion Co-Chairs:
This is a very special year for our Kentucky Wesleyan College Class of 1962 because we’ll celebrate our 50th reunion! It’s hard to believe it’s already been 50 years. Many of you have returned to campus to see all of the new facilities and attend events, but some of you have not been back. We want to challenge each one of us to return the weekend of May 18-19 for our 50-year reunion. Personally call classmates (fraternity brothers, sorority sisters. close friends, etc.) to join us at the reunion. The Class of 1961 had 15 members return last year – surely we can do better!
Activities for our reunion include a dinner on Friday, May 18 at 5:00 p.m. in Rogers Hall in the Winchester Center – a wonderful chance to renew friendships and reminisce about the good times we shared at KWC. The Annual Baccalaureate Service is scheduled for 7:00 p.m. with Mr. Keni Thomas as keynote speaker. His story is recounted in a highly successful book and movie entitled, “Blackhawk Down.”
A special breakfast and reserved parking will be available to us at the President’s Home Saturday, May 19th, beginning at 8:30 a.m. All of us in attendance will receive our 50 year medallion during the 144th Annual Commencement Ceremonies at 10:00 a.m. in Hocker-Hall Grove. Enclosed in a recent mailing, and attached to this page, is a one-page biographical sheet for you to fill out so you might be included in the Class of 1962 Memory Book. I hope you’ll take a few minutes to fill that out and return it to the Alumni Office, even if you are unable to attend our reunion. You will receive an official invitation to our reunion soon, at which time you can RSVP your intentions to attend.
Enclosed in a recent mailing is a list of our classmates, both living and deceased, plus names of those who have lost contact with the College. If you have any information about them, please let the Alumni Office know.
Please mark your calendar for May 18-19 and let’s all meet back on the campus of Kentucky Wesleyan for our 50-year reunion. I’ll see you there!
