KWC to Provide New Scholarship Opportunity

Owensboro, KY (January 13, 2014) -- In the midst of rising college tuition costs nationwide, Kentucky Wesleyan College announces a new program that will provide students with the opportunity to earn additional scholarship money each year based on their academic performance.  Beginning this fall, new students enrolling at KWC may be eligible for the new Academic Achievement Award.

"In addition to the academic scholarships we currently award to students, which are renewable for up to four years, the goal behind launching the new KWC Academic Achievement Award is to continue to recognize the outstanding work of these new, incoming students and to assure continued affordability for them,” said Director of Admissions, Rashad Smith.

The Academic Achievement Award offers a maximum award of $1,500 that will be combined with existing institutional aid.  For a student needing more money for tuition or housing, this award can make a big difference,” states Director of Financial Aid, Samantha Hays. “We are excited to offer new students who begin in Fall 2014 and beyond this additional opportunity to help them succeed,” she added.

Funds cannot exceed the cost of tuition.  For more information, please visit or contact the Admissions and Financial Aid offices at Kentucky Wesleyan at 270-852-3120.
