Secondary (High School) Education

Kentucky Wesleyan College offers a Bachelor of Arts or Bachelor of Science degree set forth in the content major for a specified department (biology, chemistry, English, mathematics or social studies).

As a secondary education student, you must complete college general education requirements, be admitted to the Teacher Education Program and complete professional knowledge coursework and a major in the field chosen for teacher certification 8-12.

You will earn certification for teaching grades 8-12 by taking Education classes in addition to classes in the area of emphasis, which means you will obtain a B.S. or B.A. in biology, chemistry, English, math or social studies with teacher certification.

Additional information, degree requirements, suggested four-year plan, and course descriptions are located in the KWC Bulletin (Catalog). Please click here and then access the degree or program via the bookmarks on the left of the page.
